My horse is getting rubs from the halter.Updated 9 months ago

We recommend a lycra fly mask that fits under the halter to help prevent rubs on horses that have thin hair or sensitive skin.  After much testing, we found this lycra fly mask to be the most durable and fit the best under halters.  Much like how a sock prevents blisters when wearing shoes, the mask fits under the halter and provides a slick surface for the halter to slip across.  This mask fits a little bit longer on the nose than most and is perfect for preventing rubs in the noseband area.  Depending on where the cheek pieces of the halter sit, the mask can also prevent rubs in that location as well.  The neck part is nice and long and can protect rubs that happen behind the ears and under the throat latch/ jaw area too. 

The rub protector fly mask is our favorite solution for preventing rubs from the halter.  If using it for just this purpose, it is very easy to trim out any mesh from the ears or eyes if you don't need/want their ears or eyes covered.
