Tips for escaping the muzzle corner
For the corner escapists, the best solution is to add a Houdini Helper Hook & Loop and Tape Set. These are sturdy, washable, and adjustable hook-and-loop straps that you can attach between the corners of the muzzle and the halter. You can use natural twine (not plastic) as a DIY option if you prefer. Sometimes a halter adjustment can help as well, though we still recommend keeping at least 1/2 inch of space between the muzzle and your horse's lips and ensuring that your angle is correct. You can always reach out to our customer service team with photos of the halter muzzle combination on your horse taken directly from the side with their head up, as well as a brief description of what's going on so we can offer more tailored advice.

Ensure your horse is well-adjusted to the muzzle
Horses that have used a different grazing muzzle in the past often have to re-learn how to use the GreenGuard muzzle because it functions differently. Whereas traditional muzzles have a hole in the middle, the GreenGuard has slots on the sides. If horses initially struggle to graze in the GreenGuard muzzle, they will be very motivated to remove it.
You can help your horse by introducing them slowly and showing them how to eat through the muzzle. Check out this Help Center article for tips on introducing the muzzle: What's the best way to introduce my horse to the muzzle?
