Tutorial video: How to measure for a GG Equine Halter

Trying to figure out halter sizes for horses is like figuring out the right size for a new pair of jeans. Every manufacturer seems to have their idea of what "Horse," "Cob," "Pony," and so on mean! We’ve provided the diagrams below to help you accurately determine what size GG Halter your equine needs.

Our halters are designed to fit longer than a traditional halter and more snugly around the small part of their neck rather than loose across their cheekbone. This helps keep them from removing the halter over their head. For this reason, we recommend measuring your horse, even if your horse typically wears a specific size in other brands. If you have a halter Houdini, having a long enough cheekpiece to get the ideal fit behind the jaw is very important. There's a good chance your halter will seem really big when you receive it but fear not! It is very adjustable, and our team is here to help get everything fitting just right for ideal removal prevention.

Taking Measurements

Cheek - Measure the distance from their prominent cheekbone back behind their jaw (blue dotted line)

Nose - Find the point that is about halfway between their nostrils and their prominent cheekbone and measure around their nose (pink line)
