The muzzle keeps filling up with grassUpdated a year ago

Horses sometimes scrape the corners of their muzzle along the ground to try to eat out of the corners or the sides. The muzzle then clips the grass and ends up filling the basket.

To prevent this, we first recommend sending us a photo of the halter/muzzle combination on the horse, taken directly from the side with their head up, so we can check the fit and adjustment of both the halter and muzzle to make sure it is set up in the best way to prevent this.

If your muzzle is adjusted correctly, we recommend adding the Houdini Helper Hook & Loop and Tape Set straps to the corners of the muzzle. These additional straps stabilize your muzzle and block your horse from scraping the corners against the ground.

Check out this video for a step-by-step guide to assembling the Houdini corner straps: How to Use GG Equine's Hook and Loop Corner Straps and Tape Set for Grazing Muzzles.

Want to DIY the straps, or have more than one horse that needs straps? We recommend this Big Velcro Roll from Amazon.
